SPEAKING
Language proficiency like any other skill (swimming, cooking, playing guitar etc) can only be acquired by 'practising it'.
- 'Let's talk' to communicate - speeches, debates, group discussions, extempore, symposiums, attending interviews, voicing opinions and a lot more;
- Polite expressions, courteous greetings, words of consolation, expressions of care and coaxing;
- Speaking intelligibly while making statements, asking questions, giving instructions, reporting events and many of the kind;
- Evoking the required responses in the listeners;
- • Stressing on phonetics which forms an integral part of the course;
- Narration of simple stories and events;
With these activities, the learner gains a lot of confidence to speak in any crowd of any level because the learner realizes that it is his responsibility to work, in order to improve upon himself. Like real life, these oral activities are “ open-ended ”.
